Save project or export animation?
Save project
Keep the poses, tracks, timing, and project settings editable.
Export animation
Create a Roblox animation asset, a module for a scripted sequence, or data for the Blender companion.
Save before exporting so you can return to the original timeline.
Export preflight
- Save the editable project and confirm you can identify it again.
- Preview the intended range from beginning to end.
- Confirm the rig and target experience or group ownership.
- Choose the destination before opening an export control.
- Record the Eclipse version, source tutorial, and any output option you select.
- Keep a copy of the editable work before testing a conversion or publish step.
Choose an export path
Pick the destination
Use a Roblox animation asset for character playback, the module exporter for a scripted sequence, or the Blender companion for external editing.
Open the export control
Select the export control in the Eclipse toolbar and choose the route that matches your destination.
Keep the result
For a published animation, copy the asset ID after submission. For file output, keep the original filename and extension.
Use a published animation in Roblox Studio
A published animation can be referenced by its asset ID. Create an Animation, assign its AnimationId, and load it through an Animator to obtain an AnimationTrack. The runtime setup differs for Humanoids and AnimationControllers.
See Roblox’s Use animations documentation for the platform API and test the animation in a non-production place.
Common export questions
Does saving publish my animation?
No. Saving keeps an editable project. Publishing creates a Roblox animation asset for reuse.
Which file format does Eclipse Animator export?
The output depends on the export route. Choose between a Roblox animation asset, the module exporter, or the Blender companion before starting.
Why can ownership matter?
For a group-owned experience, select the group in the Creator field when publishing so the animation belongs to the correct owner.
